Archival Restoration

Often early video art and sound art was not recorded under the best circumstances, but today sound can be improved for new installations. With the aid of state-of-the-art software, old recordings can be enhanced to make the material more accessible for the viewer-listener, while maintaining the original aesthetic intent of the work. In addition, curators and conservators must ensure that future presentations of media works are possible by storing and restoring these works on updated technology.
